Current Kitten Vet Bills: $9,200

Each year, well-meaning people bring hundreds of "abandoned" kittens to the shelter. The truth is, these kittens are likely not abandoned. The mother is out looking for food and water, and will return. Nevertheless, that results in hundreds of kittens spending crucial newborn hours alone at the shelter where they become malnourished, sick, or worse.

We step in to pull as many as possible, but it's INCREDIBLY costly to nurse them back to health and often require multiple vet visits.

As a result, our kitten vet bills for the many wee ones we've saved this year has ballooned to $9,200.
