HELP APA REPAIR ROOF DAMAGE

***UPDATE: Our insurance company is unable to cover any of the costs of our roof repair because it is the result of regular wear and tear over many years.***

We knew our roof was going to need work or replacement soon. For a while now, there was one area that leaked when it rained. In the past months with the heavy rains, the situation became dire. Just as we were in the process of getting quotes for the roof repair or replacement, on Saturday, August 27th, the roof literally came tumbling down in our large dog room just after 5 a.m.! Luckily, none of our dogs were injured!!

However, what was exposed was insulation with black mold. We had to act fast and get our large dogs moved out of the room. They are now in boarding until our roof can be replaced and their room's damage is repaired.

We are asking the community to help us Raise the Roof and contribute to a complete roof restoration that started the week of September 19th, including black mold abatement. The cost of this alone is $50K. We also have a lot of repairs for all the damage inside the building. And boarding seven large dogs for several weeks up to a month is also going to be costly, but this is an emergency situation that is dangerous for our staff and animals. We had to act fast to do what was best for all.
